No show for 'child witness' NBI
vs Gov. Espino, Rep. Celeste

In our first hearing last Friday at the DOJ for the preliminary investigation of murder filed by the NBI against Pangasinan Governor Amado T. Espino Jr., Rep. Jesus "Boying" Celeste of the province's first district, and newsman Jaime G. Aquino, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and AKAP BATA-CARITAS did not bring the 17-year-old son of Aquino named by them as the "boy witness" for the charge of murdering Mayor Ruperto Martinez of Infanta town in Pangasinan.

AKAP BATA-Caritas alleged that they were still conducting investigation as the justification why they did not bring the "boy witness."

I think the NBI is a respectable institution that when it files its charges they have strong evidence and that their witnesses are credible.

Now, why did they not bring the "boy witness"?

To me, we are vindicated when the 15 justices of the Supreme Court granted my Petition for Writ of Amparo to order the NBI and AKAP BATA and DOJ to turn over the "boy witness" to his father, Jaime G. Aquino and mother Ester I. Aquino.

In the same Writ of Amparo, I insisted and argued that the "boy witness" was perjured and manipulated and the unjustified use of him as a witness against the governor and congressman of Pangasinan has brought clear and present danger to the life, security and liberty of the "child witness," his father, his mother, and their entire family.
